iOS SSH Client & Server Management

At 3 AM,
how long is a minute?

Your servers don't wait for you to find a laptop. Neither should your tools.

Trusted by sysadmins, DevOps engineers, and developers

"The problem isn't the commands. Every engineer knows the commands."

The problem is the gap.

"The gap between 'something is wrong' and 'someone can do something about it.'"

  • For business, that gap is $5,600 per minute.

  • For public safety, that gap is measured in risk.

  • For everyone, it's measured in minutes nobody has at 3 AM.

Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

What makes NetShell different from Termius or Prompt 3?
NetShell combines SSH, SFTP, Docker management, network scanning, an AI assistant, Siri integration, and home screen widgets in a single app. Termius costs $120/year and lacks Docker or network scanning. Prompt 3 is SSH-only. NetShell replaces five separate apps — and it's completely free.
Is NetShell secure?
Yes. NetShell uses enterprise-grade SSH encryption, stores all credentials in the iOS Keychain (never in iCloud or plain storage), implements Trust On First Use (TOFU) host key verification, biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID), and rate-limited login attempts to prevent brute force. Passwords are never synced to iCloud — only connection metadata is.
Does NetShell work with all SSH servers?
Yes. NetShell works with any standard SSH server — Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Arch), macOS Server, BSD, network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik), cloud VMs (AWS EC2, GCP Compute, Azure, DigitalOcean, Vultr), Raspberry Pi, Synology NAS, and more. It supports both password and key-based (Ed25519, RSA, ECDSA) authentication on port 22 or any custom port.
Can I use NetShell offline?
The app itself works fully offline for browsing your saved connections, command snippet library, terminal themes, and reviewing previously cached server status. Active SSH sessions require network connectivity to your server. Wi-Fi, cellular (4G/5G), and VPN connections are all supported.
What iOS version is required?
NetShell requires iOS 17 or later, compatible with iPhone and iPad. It is optimized for the latest iOS features including interactive Lock Screen widgets, Siri Shortcuts, StandBy mode, and Stage Manager on iPad. iPhone XS and later are supported.
Is NetShell really free?
Yes. NetShell is currently 100% free with all features unlocked — unlimited SSH connections, SFTP, Docker management, network scanning, AI assistant, home screen widgets, and Siri integration. No in-app purchases, no paywall, no credit card required. Download it and enjoy the full experience.
Does NetShell support key-based authentication?
Yes. NetShell supports Ed25519, RSA, and ECDSA key pairs for SSH authentication. You can import existing private keys directly from the Files app, or generate new Ed25519 key pairs directly within NetShell. All private keys are stored securely and exclusively in the iOS Keychain — never in iCloud, never in plaintext.
How does the AI assistant work?
The AI assistant connects to your choice of AI provider — Anthropic Claude, OpenAI (GPT-4), or a local Ollama instance running on your own hardware. It has context about your connected server including OS, running processes, recent terminal output, and Docker containers, and can suggest commands, explain error messages, generate shell scripts, and help diagnose issues. Your server data is only sent to the AI provider you personally configure. No data is sent to NetShell servers.
